This was a difficult time for him and on several occasions he tried to visit me coming through U.K. airports And Dublin, each time he was refused entry as he was Indian and he even ended up in Mountjoy prison in Ireland overnight before being deported back to Spain. That was not a good night for him and after hearing his experience I was embarrassed by my country.

It was then that he realised that on his first visit to the U.K. the emigration department had put a black cross on his passport which basically was a signal not to let him in the country. This was a very hard time for me as well and because I was unable to concentrate on my studies properly as he still wanted me to leave them, I decided to break off the relationship so I could focus properly.

It was heart breaking at the time but I always believed in destiny and trusted in God and if we were meant to be together we would meet again.

After that he went back to India as he knew he would have to do something different to get in the country.I continued with my training always wondering if I had made the right decision.

Time passed and I was in the final month of my training. A group of us had just come back from holiday at my parent’s caravan, it was Saturday and we decided to go to our local disco for a last celebration before we had to return to work.

There we were dancing on the floor when I looked across only to see Dilip at least I thought it was him, dancing on the floor as well. I looked and looked, then he went to the bar to get a drink, I followed him, I had to be sure, I didn’t want to make a fool of myself, yes it was definitely him. I tapped him on the shoulder and when he turned around he dropped his glass.

As well as that he was Indian and was only on a temporary visa sponsored by his uncle, and had to be renewed regularly.

This was a difficult time for him and on several occasions he tried to visit me coming through U.K. airports And Dublin, each time he was refused entry as he was Indian and he even ended up in Mountjoy prison in Ireland overnight before being deported back to Spain. That was not a good night for him and after hearing his experience I was embarrassed by my country.

It was then that he realised that on his first visit to the U.K. the emigration department had put a black cross on his passport which basically was a signal not to let him in the country. This was a very hard time for me as well and because I was unable to concentrate on my studies properly as he still wanted me to leave them, I decided to break off the relationship so I could focus properly.

It was heart breaking at the time but I always believed in destiny and trusted in God and if we were meant to be together we would meet again.

After that he went back to India as he knew he would have to do something different to get in the country.I continued with my training always wondering if I had made the right decision.

Time passed and I was in the final month of my training. A group of us had just come back from holiday at my parent’s caravan, it was Saturday and we decided to go to our local disco for a last celebration before we had to return to work.

There we were dancing on the floor when I looked across only to see Dilip at least I thought it was him, dancing on the floor as well. I looked and looked, then he went to the bar to get a drink, I followed him, I had to be sure, I didn’t want to make a fool of myself, yes it was definitely him. I tapped him on the shoulder and when he turned around he dropped his glass.

I couldn’t believe it, we hugged immediately and everyone was amazed .Berni his friend had been helping him to try and find me, but they didn’t know that this was our local haunt.

He had tried to phone my home but as I was on holiday and did not go home so I never got the message. That was truly destiny; he was only in Ireland for a week before he returned to London to start a course he had signed up for. How he managed to get in the country? I bet your asking! Well that is another story!

Well of course we got married and I moved to the UK after I had qualified.

Life is very precious and we never take it for granted.We have always told our children to treat every day as the first day of the rest of your lives and make the most of every minute of it.
